For Schools & Drama Groups
As a practitioner, I offer customised workshops, ideally tailored for your students or members, your time and your purse.
A) Improvisation - a central skill in all areas of performance (and an essential requirement in all specifications at GCSE and A-Level).
B) Pantomime - a unique tradition, encompassing clowning, farce and physical theatre, a hugely enjoyable and highly skilled introduction to comic acting. May contain traces of custard.
C) Gothic/Melodrama - a more unusual route into pitching the right level of emotional performance and an introduction to controlling and expressing powerful emotion on stage -useful in counteracting over-acting!
All the workshops above are designed to be flexible and easily adaptable for any year/age group. They require no specific space, work with groups of 2 to 30 students and can be tailored to fit your class/rehearsal time. All three of these workshops aim at developing confidence and freedom of expression on stage.
My workshops can equally be adapted to assist a current text being studied, or a production being staged. (They also work as stand-alone classes - perfect for cover periods!)
On the career front, I am willing and able to offer talks, Question and Answer sessions etc on working in professional television and theatre.
I have completed all Criminal Record Bureau checks necessary to enable me to work with children and vulnerable adults.
I realise that all drama departments and groups have many demands on their budgets, and am more than happy to negotiate a mutually acceptable fee. Please get in touch!
